New platform helps job seekers showcase their potential beyond the résumé while helping employers discover stronger talent matches
GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 5, 2026 — As college graduates face growing competition for professional jobs, VUEniq today announced the launch of its video-first talent discovery platform, alongside its ranking of the 50 best U.S. metropolitan areas to start a professional career in 2027.
Through its Talent platform, job seekers, students and employees can introduce themselves through 60-second videos highlighting their strengths, interests, communication skills and ambitions beyond what a traditional résumé communicates. Employers gain another perspective when evaluating candidates, helping them discover individuals whose potential might otherwise be overlooked.
Traditional hiring often emphasizes previous job titles, credentials and experience. For recent graduates and others entering a new career, those measures may not tell the whole story. VUEniq gives candidates an opportunity to communicate what they could bring to an organization while helping employers discover talent beyond conventional application materials.
Alongside its launch, VUEniq identified the 50 best U.S. metropolitan areas for starting a professional career in 2027. Columbus, Ohio, ranks No. 1, followed by Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The complete VUEniq Top 50 ranking, including city-by-city explanations, is available here.
"Getting that first job is one of the biggest hurdles in building a career. Employers want to see experience, but graduates want to be viewed for their potential, not limited by their experience," said Portia Van Drisse, founder and CEO of VUEniq. "We want to help people communicate their strengths and potential in a more personal way, while helping employers discover candidates they might otherwise overlook."
A Different Way to Discover Talent
VUEniq combines video introductions with tools designed to make talent discovery more accessible and organized. Key features include:
- 60-second video introductions: Candidates share their strengths, interests and ambitions.
- Explore Talent: A video-first experience that helps employers discover candidates through personal introductions.
- Talent Tracks: Organizes talent discovery around relevant interests and potential career opportunities.
- Internal talent visibility: Helps employers identify existing employees who may be suited for new opportunities within their organizations.
The Top 50 ranking reflects VUEniq's editorial assessment of metropolitan areas for graduates entering the workforce. Factors include professional opportunities, potential entry points for candidates with limited experience, employer and industry diversity, early-career earning potential and cost of living. Research draws on public employment and wage data, cost-of-living resources and analyses from ADP Research, Zillow and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The ranking is an editorial assessment, not a formal statistical scoring model or a guarantee of employment. The best market will vary by field, qualifications, starting pay and housing costs.
"People are more than a list of previous jobs and qualifications," Van Drisse said. "We believe candidates should have more opportunities to show employers who they are, what they bring to the table and where they could contribute."
